whimsical melodies - The Pessimistic pheasant

I saw a little pheasant, sitting by a tree, I asked the little pheasants what was troubling he....
“every day I serenade the morning sun. Thanking him for letting me know the days begun. But each day he runs away back to the hills. The hills who hide him, disguise him demise him. They cover his nakedness with a cloth of darkness and they tease and torture the world with glimmering stars, and icy winds.”
...And I left the little pheasant sitting by the tree, because he spoke ill of the hills who everyday gave a sun to me.

The Drawing Board: Transitions - Horizons at Dawn

"Dawn"

"in this series Transitions, i'm trying to capture moments and expressions.
Revealing the raw emotions, fears, hopes and beliefs of individuals before the mask is replaced.

Dawn is the first in the series where i have used watercolour as my medium. i choose watercolours as i feel, it best reflects the colours of dawn.

Dawn - the first appearance. a new beginning .
dew drops, fresh, the transition between night and day, moonlight and sunlight, shadows and silhouettes. new beginnings, change, hope, relief, Horizons .... the boundry between the earth and sky.

people photography: Scarred

"Scarred"

weathered hands, well travelled along the road of heartache, the harsh contrast of pain and joy is captured through the contour, shadows. the colours, are made to draw you in, captivating, enticing, harsh, scarred. the paradox of love.

this picture is inspired by a passage from  Kahlil Gibran's - The prophet.

"For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.
Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun,
So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth
